Lyall recently retired from his position with the Province of Manitoba, Canada. Over the span of his 38 year career in social services he has held a variety of positions with in government, the not for profit sector and the private sector. He is now able to devote time to other pursuits including assisting his wife of 31 years as a an associate with Hallick and Associates - a consulting and training firm in Manitoba who serves to empower agencies and businesses develop their human resource potential and build a culturally proficient workforce. In addition, he has recently begun work with humanitarian organizations such as LAMb International, Mobilizing Men and Two and a Half Miles. Also, he was recently elected as a Board Member for the Canadian Paraplegic Association-Manitoba Chapter.
Lyall's career has included work in numerous capacities including Resdiential Counsellor, Employment Counsellor, Supervisor of Employment Services, Regional Program Manager, Acting Regional Director, Provincial Business Transformation Specialist, Provincial Agency Relations Coordinator and Provincial Market-abilities Program Specialist.
During his entire career Lyall has been involved in working with disadvantaged and disabled children and adults and has worked with the following organizations:

- The Society for Manitoban's with Disabilities
- YES Canada
- Child Welfare Services
